This is the second and biggest part of a 4 venue exhibition series taking place across London. The art at Corner New Cross explores the theme of righteous rage within the trans community. The last few years have seen an increase in violence and anger towards the trans+ community as the community continues to be used as a political talking point, without talking to the trans + community. The aim of R.A.G.E is to make a space underrepresented voices and put their experiences at the front of the “debate”. Empathy and community are at the forefront of our activism. It started with Trans Rage 2025 (Chats Palace, July 2025), continues with Trans Rage Fest (Chats Palace, November 2025) and now the most ambitious show to date, Trans Rage 2026. Split across London over 40 days and featuring 70+ works of art. The art at Corner New Cross will see the widest selection of art and artists from the entire exhibition series. Validating political anger for the LGBTQ+ community is the core of what R.A.G.E do. Making space for the hurt and the anger is the first step towards healing. The entire exhibition is grounded in words of trans and feminist activist Susan Stryker: “Rage colours me as it pressed in through the pores of my skin, soaking in until it becomes the blood that courses through my beating heart. It is a rage bred by the necessity of existing in external circumstances that work against my survival” - Stryker, S. (1994). My words to Victor Frankenstein above the village of Chamounix: Performing transgender rage. Fox Fisher was commissioned by R.A.G.E this year to make the poster, after being featured in the trans rage exhibition series since its first show. They went above and beyond and not only designed a digital poster but made their own screen printed version which will be shown across the exhibition series. There is over 70 art works that will be displayed across London through November and December. Aside from the Museum of Transology exhibition by the outstanding EJ Scott, this is the biggest collection of trans art that London has seen. It has entirely been organised by Sunny and Lee and their relentless work towards building more space for trans + artists, whilst they both work full time jobs. The art this year has more rage than ever, it has been an especially hard year for the trans + community and it so clearly seen in their works. Freya Gascoyne’s work I have not (yet) been able to touch the destruction within me. A large scale emotive and somewhat violent painting, Gascoyne embodies the rage that Stryker is referring to, and how it feels like it is going to explore out of you. However the body also take quite a central stage at this show. Works like Zéphyr’s If You Cut Me, I’ll Bleed Pink and Moss’s work Muscle, explore the trans + body and the complicated and loving relationship the community has with their own physical existence. Izzy MacC’s oil paintings In the Dark and Let’s Play a Love Game see the body as a site of imagined escapism. Among many things, MacC’s art aims to celebrate the power of queer self imagining. The show will feature paintings, sculptures, and different interactive elements such as Cookie-Clementine Animal Riley’s piece Spoilt Candy. Cookie invites the audience up to come and take a series of posters off the wall to reveal an illustration bellow. They wrote, “this work resonates with men constant changing feelings and my constant doubt in my work and existence. the posters covering the art contain honest feelings and I hope give the audience some insight into my artistic process as my inner thoughts constantly stop me from appreciating my own work/process.” R.A.G.E will always make artists the priority, shifting the focus away from traditional space and creating exhibitions that are interactive, open and create real community and dialogue. The opening is bound to be a night of rage, but also joy and love. There are so many different voices on display and a virtual book will be available for download which gives you the chance to interact more with the artists lived experiences and see what they have to say about the art on display. This exhibition is split in two. The opening will take place at the launch of part 1. Part 2, the art in the basement gallery space will be cleared out to make space for Mia Hunter Evans Mugged By a Penis, Robbed of My Sanity reworked for trans rage 2026. This is a large scale project that was created out of a horrific sexual assault that Mia was subject to. It is a raw and honest creative exploration of the psyche and mental damage and mental growth. Mia has redesigned her heart wrenching piece to fill the basement gallery space. The original piece is a 6 metre Long, 8ft high board comprising of 43 images and 5 months of diary entries, documenting sexual assault from a personal and trans perspective. Mia wrote “Recovering is not a linear process; it is a process of evolution into chaos and comfort… It was created during the time the EHRC deemed gender to be based on sex and 'Tranwomen to not be women' in 'protection of women and girls'. As a woman, this is my full access exploration of enduring sexual violence.”
