Visual Impairment Kung Fu with Martial Attitude - Wing Chun and movement training

Introducing an incredible new sports programme for visually impaired young people! RSBC is delighted to partner with Martial Attitude to deliver specialist Kung Fu sessions designed for visually impaired young people to get active, learn a new skill and develop their radical Kung Fu! These classes are designed as part of a 10 session course to take you from novice to master! You can join any class and come as regularly as you like. These sessions are designed for young people 12+, however if you have a young person who is interested who is younger do let us know, its at the discretion of Martial Attitude. Kung Fu Wing Chun is a martial art form which develops the student’s sensitivity via the contact of the arms and hands. It is a supportive and safe process. Training unfolds in a progressive manner, starting with foundational skills and gradually introducing more advanced techniques. It requires very little space and is practiced in pairs facing each other. No special clothing is required (other than comfortable sportswear) or equipment. Students will learn drills and exercises that can be practiced easily at home between sessions. Martial Attitude Training for visually impaired and blind people aims to give participants a better understanding of their own posture and body’s positioning in space and of how to receive, interpret and adapt when in physical contact with other people. About Martial Attitude Mathias Alberton is an experienced Kung Fu Wing Chun Instructor registered Martial Attitude Training registered with The British Council for Chinese Martial Arts. Mathias has been training blind and visually impaired people for more than 10 years. He is a qualified Sport and Remedial Massage Therapist, Gym Instructor and a BPS trainee Sport Psychologist, after completed his MSc in Applied Sports Psychology at St. Mary’s University Twickenham, London. Unfortunately due to the nature of the session, it is unsuitable for our young people who are wheelchair users.
