Your instructor, Louisa, is an experienced Stitching Tutor at the Fashion Technology Academy in Islington, which specialises in technical skills training for garment manufacturing, including stitching, production and pattern cutting. What You’ll Learn Day 1: Foundations of Industrial Sewing • Understanding the anatomy of industrial sewing machines. • Safe operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of common issues. • Threading, bobbin winding and mastering stitch tension on a flatbed machine. • Practising straight lines, curves and corners for precision sewing. Days 2–3: Make-Up Bag Construction and Techniques • Applying practical techniques to construct a make-up bag. • Adding finishing details such as zips, seams and binding. • Practising speed control and precision for professional-quality results.
