An hands-on workshop on cyanotype on bioplastics! Design unique Prussian blue cards and learn how to continue your creation at home! Discover an unconventional approach to cyanotype using bioplastics! You will explore every step of the creative process—from coating the solution to crafting your own bioplastic cyanotype cards. This workshop is open to everyone—no prior experience with biomaterials or cyanotype is required. Feel free to bring small, dry physical objects (such as pressed flowers or leaves) to enrich your artwork. Be ready to join our instructor and dive into the vibrant world of Prussian blue! #What You Will Learn • Techniques of applying cyanotype solutions onto bioplastic surfaces. • Discover the dynamic use cases and creative applications for bioplastics. • Gain practical experience in handling unique, sustainable, and novel materials. • Practical tips and insights to continue your cyanotype journey at home. #What You Will Take Home • A UV-exposed cyanotype bioplastic card, designed by you and ready to dry. • An unexposed cyanotype bioplastic sheet to experiment with at home. • A digital instruction guide to support your ongoing cyanotype experiments. *Please note* This workshop focuses on the cyanotype process on bioplastic rather than making bioplastics from scratch. However, your instructor will share the tips to help you explore bioplastic making for Cyanotype at home. Meet your instructor Joanna is an artist and designer working across speculative design, product design, biodesign, and visual arts. She graduated from MA Biodesign at Central Saint Martins (UAL) and holds a Bachelor's degree in Product Design. Her practice combines interdisciplinary research with narrative Installations and sculptural objects, questioning established norms and values, while envisioning alternative possibilities through critical approaches. Joanna’s work serves as a medium for discussion, challenging definitions and sparking imagination. Joanna’s work has been exhibited internationally, including Dutch Design Week, Salone Satellite Fiera Milano, the National Taiwan Science Education Centre, and the Taiwan Design Museum.
