Life Drawing & Literature: Draw Nudes x Mother Of Books

You are invited to ‘Ageing’ by Draw Nudes x Mother Of Books. 'Ageing' by Rowan Kassab & Kareem Arthur is a new series of life drawing sessions that intends to answer questions surrounding growing older. By combining life drawing and literature we intend to create an intergenerational space that will highlight the joys and fears about approaching the various stages in life. This project aims to form a space to openly discuss the realities of ageing, emphasising the value of intergenerational learning and the unique experiences each person has through words, creativity and conversation. Rowan has been running Draw Nudes successfully since 2020 which encourages a collaborative learning space, pushing its participants to re-learn how to observe what is right in front of them. This is achieved through different drawing exercises and open conversations. Kareem has been building a Mother of Books since the beginning of this year. It's a project that explores the art of the page. Engaging with not only books and texts in a variety of areas but also gets people thinking about books within the community, sharing resources and accessibility. This is a session for anyone and everyone, you do not have to be an artist. There is no expectation for what is created. We want to provide a safe space to explore your creativity, and have intentional conversations, and take a step back from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Come as you are, create freely, and simply enjoy the space to pause, connect, and explore. Basic materials will be provided. Schedule: Introduction & Intention: Project ‘Ageing’ Draw Nudes x Mother Of Books Reading #1: Reading to sound from Kareem Arthur Warm up: (approximately 1 minute each) five continuous line drawings Reading #2: (5 minute pose) listening & drawing 15 minute pose Break: 15 minutes + a little wine or tea top up.
