Sound and Breath: Poetry with Niall Campbell and Todd Turner

An evening with Niall Campbell and Todd Turner. Join acclaimed Scottish poet Niall Campbell alongside Australian poet Todd Turner for an evening exploring deep immersions in landscape, memory, and the quiet intersections of our worlds. The event will also mark the UK launch of Turner’s third collection, 'Breathwork'. Niall Campbell is a poet from the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. His first poetry collection, 'Moontide', won the Edwin Morgan Poetry Award and Saltire First Book of the Year. 'Noctuary', his second collection, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection in 2019. A selection from these first two books were published in the U.S. as 'First Nights', part of the Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets. His most recent collection, 'The Island in the Sound', was also shortlisted for the Forward Prize Best Collection in 2025. He has worked as a librettist with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and is the editor of the acclaimed poetry journal Poetry London. Todd Turner is an Australian poet and master goldsmith. He was the co-winner of the inaugural Jean Cecily Drake-Brockman Poetry Prize, and his debut collection was shortlisted for both the Dame Mary Gilmore Award and the Anne Elder Award. His subsequent writing has been highly commended for the Blake and Newcastle Poetry Prizes. He is the author of three collections - 'Woodsmoke', 'Thorn', and 'Breathwork' - with his poetry appearing widely across 'Best of Australian Poems', 'Meanjin', 'Southword', and 'Poetry London'. In late 2026, he is undertaking an international reading tour across the UK and Ireland, including events at Keats House, St Mungo’s Mirrorball, Shore Poets, Ó Bhéal go Béal, and the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
