BBCT: Pharmacology, Chemotherapy & Molecular Biology (incorporating RCR FRCR 1 syllabus) Monday 9 - Friday 13 November 2026 The Cancer Studies Research Group based at The Christie Institute for Cancer Education & Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute play a major role in allowing Specialist Registrars in Clinical & Medical Oncology to fulfil the academic side of their training. This programme is run as a 5 day virtual lecture series and includes examination practice sessions. Low-to-Middle-Income Country (LMIC) course fees are offered at a 50% reduction. Target Audience The teaching is designed for trainee medical and clinical oncologists and incorporates the FRCR part 1 syllabus including candidates for the Royal College FRCR part 1 examinations. Topics covered Pharmacology & drug toxicity Pharmacokinetics Angiogenesis Immunotherapy & vaccines Cancer genetics Apoptosis Clinical pharmacology High dose chemotherapy Exam practice sessions Chemotherapy principles & drug resistance Syllabus The course covers FRCR part 1 examinations as part of the RCR syllabus Teaching method The course will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams over five consecutive days. Teaching will comprise of live lectures, pre-recorded lectures and examination practice sessions. Recordings will be shared following the course and accessible until September 2027, in line with RCR Spring and Autumn 2027 examinations.
