Reduction Lino with Heather Swain

Design a fun print and create your own greetings cards or printed Christmas gifts. Design a fun print and create your own greetings cards or printed Christmas gifts. This lino printing workshop will focus on creating your own set of festive or ‘occasion’ greetings cards or you may choose to design and make a series of lino prints as gifts. You will learn how to develop a simple design idea for a reduction cut lino print, visualising it in two or three colours, carving it into the lino block, and printing it. This is a hand-printing activity, without the use of a press, and as such it would be possible to develop your practice further at home. Some images for design ideas will be provided, or if you wish, bring your own simple pictures/photos as starting points for ideas. All materials for the workshop will be provided. Timing: 9.45am to 3.15pm Tea, coffee or cold drinks and biscuits will be provided. A table for lunch at 12.15 will be reserved in the café ‘Cobbles and Clay’ for your own orders. Alternatively, if you wish, feel free to make your own lunch arrangements.
