Renowned local photographer, James C Lawrence and his sons, captured 107 years of Gosport’s history through the camera lens... This walk will use those images to look at Gosport High Street as the photographer saw it, and compare it to today. Founded by photography since 1895, today this legacy of The Lawrence Archive still connects directly to local heritage trails and urban landmarks. Your Guide, Ann Sandall, will show you images of wonderful shop and building fronts. Can you look at the photographs of bygone years and compare them to our current High Street? This promises to be an eye-opening event, as you view the past image and see the real present side-by-side. And what about the future?
