Medicine of the Hedgerow: An Autumn Forage & Workshop

An Autumn morning of foraging & folk medicine at Wildwood. Gather Hawthorn & Rosehip and make two beautiful seasonal remedies to take home! Join us at our ancient woodland retreat space, for a three-hour Autumn workshop exploring the traditional medicine, folklore and seasonal gifts of the hedgerow. Taking place at the New Moon, this workshop offers an opportunity to slow down, spend time in nature and explore some of the plants traditionally gathered at this time of year. We’ll begin with an informal introduction to Hawthorn and Rosehip, exploring their traditional uses, folklore and place within folk herbalism. We’ll then head out into Wildwood’s private ancient woodland and hedgerows to forage for autumn berries and meet other seasonal plant allies along the way. Back in the apothecary kitchen, you’ll use your foraged berries to create two seasonal remedies to take home: Rosehip-infused skin oil - a rich botanical oil inspired by Rosehip’s long tradition of nourishing and caring for the skin. Hawthorn Elixir with brandy and honey - a warming preparation rooted in traditional folk herbalism and Hawthorn’s centuries-old association with the heart. Both remedies will be made by you using pure, organic ingredients, ready to take home and become part of your own Autumn apothecary. This is a hands-on introduction to traditional folk medicine and seasonal foraging, suitable for complete beginners as well as those wishing to deepen their relationship with plants.
