Mixed Media Embroidery

This workshop will be a celebration of abstract mixed media embroidery. Using textured embroidery stitches, you will create your own piece that combines collage, fabrics, painted elements, beading, and found objects. This workshop will go into more complex stitches such as couching, open cretin stitch, feathered stitch, and open chain stitch. These will create a foundation of interesting textures to build upon the elements you put down on fabric. If you have attended the Painting on Fabrics or Lino printing workshop, please feel free to bring along your work to use in this workshop. You are also welcome to bring along any personal mixed media to use, such as photos, fabrics and found objects to sew. This workshop will be hosted at Seeded Southsea. Materials and refreshments will be provided. If you would like to bring your own you are welcome to! Please let us know of any dietary requirements on booking.
