Delta Reign Prerelease

Join us for our next Pokémon prerelease Come along to Wayland Games Brentwood’s prerelease for the new Delta Reign set! You can gain access to cards from the new set ahead of the November 6th release date by joining this friendly prerelease tournament. Players of all ages (6+) and abilities are welcome. Prereleases are a fun, friendly environment and a great place to start your Pokémon TCG journey! Registration will open at 12:30. Please arrive on time and ensure you have a player ID ready. You can register for a player ID for free on the Pokémon website. If your child is playing you will need to register yourself before you can register on your child’s behalf. At 1 pm players will be seated and given a build and battle box. These contain one of four prebuilt 40 card decks featuring Pokémon from the new set as well as an exclusive promo card. They also contain four booster packs from the new set. You will be given 30 minutes to build your deck. You can use the 40 card deck you’re given or you can swap out cards with ones you pulled in your booster packs. We will also provide basic energy cards if needed. You are not allowed to swap cards with other players or include cards you have brought from home. We strongly recommend sleeving your cards at this point. It makes your deck easier to shuffle and protects your new cards from getting damaged. Sleeves are available for purchase from the store depending on availability. Once the deckbuilding phase is complete the tournament will start. We recommend bringing your own play mat, damage counters, dice / coins and special condition markers if possible but some may be available to borrow if necessary. You will be paired with another player to battle. This pairing is random but younger players will be paired with each other if possible. If we have 6 or more younger players they will play the entire tournament in their own ‘pod’. You will then have 30 minutes to play one game with your opponent. This is a best of one tournament so the outcome of that game (win, loss or tie) will be the outcome of your first round. If you have any questions or need any help while playing please call over a professor, who will be happy to help you. If you are still playing when time is called on the round, our professors will explain what happens then if you don’t already know. Once all games are complete and have been reported, round 2 will be paired. We use ‘Swiss’ pairings so winners are paired with winners and non-winners are paired with non-winners; we try our best to pair you with players of similar ability. Again, younger players will be paired with each other if possible. Please note you are not allowed to change the cards in your deck between rounds. This will repeat until we have completed three rounds. When you are playing the third round, you will be given three more boosters from the new set for attending. How long the tournament takes will depend on how fast each round completes, but all play should be complete around 4:30. Purchase of this ticket is for participation in the event, any products associated with the event will only be given to players who attend. Product cannot be claimed before or after the event without attendance. Prizing is distributed at the end of the event and cannot be claimed earlier.
