Early Infancy Challenges with Settling and Feeding: Role of Osteopathy

Workshop on the osteopathy’s role in early infancy, settling and feeding difficulties, autonomic and immune system development. This practical and discussion based workshop, designed for osteopaths and student osteopaths, explores why many babies present with settling and feeding difficulties in early infancy. It looks at autonomic and immune system development and the osteopath’s role in paediatric healthcare. Because babies cannot put their bodily sensations into words, palpation plays a central part alongside the case history. The workshop offers practice in perceiving what a baby feels and needs through touch. Bringing these threads together, it considers the “why” behind baby presentations and what we can do to help.
