Tickets are free but spaces are limited! Please only book tickets for the child or children taking part in the event (we'll have seats for parents and guardians!) Nearest car parks are White Horse Lane car park and Butt Lane car park. About Superheroes in the Park One little boy can’t wait to get to the park with Dad and Daddy. But oh no! The path is too icy. “Careful or you’ll slip,” says Dad. The ropes are too high… “Stop, or you might fall,” says Daddy. Everything is too high, too fast, too slippery or too big. It’s not fair! But after some tears and a big hug the boy has a brilliant idea. They will all play TOGETHER at the playground and he will show Dad and Daddy what to do! On the ropes they’re pirates, on the swing they are swooping birds and on the roundabout they’re SUPERHEROES. About Ian Eagleton Ian is the director of The Reading Realm. He is also a content creator and resource writer for various educational organisations, including The Literacy Shed and Authorfy. Ian has taught in primary schools for 13 years and during this time has been a member of the senior management team, a phase leader, and literacy co-ordinator. He especially enjoys sharing picture books, poetry and creative writing activities with the children he teaches. His picture books include the award-winning Nen and the Lonely Fisherman and his middle-grade books include Glitter Boy, The Dad Trap, and The Boy Who Cried Ghost. About Hayley Wells Hayley Wells is an Essex-based illustrator with an MA in Children’s Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art. Their work has been shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards, featured on television, and published worldwide. Hayley is currently working on their ninth book. When they’re not illustrating, Hayley can be found growing vegetables at their allotment or falling over on roller skates.
