Danes Moss Fungi Walk and ID Workshop

Join us and a guest specialist mycologist, for an autumnal walk across Danes Moss, as we search for and ID fabulous fungi! Danes Moss Trust invites you to join us on-site to experience the amazing range of fungi that can be seen during the autumn months. Our goal is to introduce people to fungi and improve knowledge of their ecology and importance, whilst also enjoying the challenge that comes with finding and IDing specimens . We hope that participants make the most of the expertise of Solvi , our guest mycologist, and leave the session feeling more confident in producing fungi records in their own time, on platforms such as iNaturalist. We will begin the session on Danes Moss North and enter the site via Franklin Close play area. We will be on site for around 2 hours to try and find as many different fungi species as possible. The 2nd half of the session will be indoors in the Scout Hall (Scout Hall, Church Lane, Gawsworth, SK119QY) where we will ID our specimens with the help of Solvi. People do not need to stay for the full 5 hours if they do not want to. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided and feel free to bring along a packed lunch.
