In Person Workshop: Beginners Embroidery with Catherine Hill (Crewe)

With Catherine Hill, a workshop for beginners to learn 3-5 basic stitches, at the Hobbycraft in Crewe on 26 September at 1:30pm. Suitable for those who have never picked up a needle but want to have a go or those who have just started to stitch. A workshop for beginners to learn 3-5 basic stitches whilst embroidering a simple stylish pattern. A choice of four patterns will be provided. The workshop will provide confidence to continue to explore after the workshop has ended. To note: • This event is for those aged 16 and over. • Cancellation and refunds given up to 7 days before the event takes place. No refunds will be given for cancellations under 7 days. • Capacity for this workshop is 6 people. Required Materials You will be able to take away fabric, threads and a needle to carry on stitching at home. Equipment used in the workshop such as hoops, maker pens and scissors will be available to purchase afterwards in store. You may find it useful to bring a pen and paper to make notes. Your Tutor Catherine Hill is a multi-award-winning artist whose work appears in numerous publications and has been exhibited worldwide. Her creative practice harnesses the use of text and narrative to bring to life memories of her childhood, her adult life, and Lancashire's social history. Many of her works are in her ‘Red Square’ format which uses what is now her signature red thread (inspired by the Lancashire Rose), combined with a vintage or repurposed fabric to narrate a story in a perfect square of embroidered words.
