Gwynfaen Site Visit

Beginning at the SO Modular factory where the homes were manufactured, the visit will include a presentation from Codi, a short tour of the modular timber construction process and a guided visit to the completed development at Gwynfaen. Participants will hear how the original vision was developed and translated through the design, planning, procurement and construction process, including the approach to placemaking, landscape, green infrastructure, sustainable drainage and low-carbon energy. The session will also provide an opportunity to discuss what worked well, the challenges encountered and how they were addressed, and the lessons that can inform future affordable housing projects. Participants are welcome to join us for an optional self-funded lunch and informal discussion at Coffi @ The Foundry from 1.15pm to 2.30pm following the visit. Limited places are available for representatives of organisations involved in commissioning and delivering affordable housing, with a maximum of two participants per organisation.
