Andover Vision Business Breakfast

This is one of a series of breakfast meetings organised by TVBC and hosted by Andover College. It will focus on workplace health. All businesses from across Andover are invited to attend our business breakfast on Wednesday 16 September at the Andover College business centre. Please arrive between 07:15 and 07:30 so that we can start at 07:30. The event will finish by 08:45. We are hosting this event as part of Andover Vision – a partnership of Andover’s residents, community groups, businesses and public bodies. The purpose of Andover Vision is to help the town fulfil its potential and, in doing so, raise aspirations, promote a sense of pride, and support the development of an enterprising town. We are delighted to be joined Paul Schreier, Simplyhealth Group CEO, for this session which will focus on workplace health. Employee sickness absence days have risen from an average of 7.8 to 9.4 in two years, with mental ill health remaining the leading cause of long and short-term absence*. Simplyhealth Group is a major Andover business serving over 2.5 million members and 12,000 businesses across the UK. As a vanguard organisation for the Government's Keep Britain Working Review, Simplyhealth Group are at the forefront of helping to shape Government policy, which aims to reduce the number of people leaving work due to ill health and disability, and to help more people stay in or return to employment. This year, Simplyhealth Group has also invested and launched a Mental Health Charity Programme, which includes funding Mental Health Aware training places for SMEs, in partnership with Mental Health First Aid England. The agenda for the session will include: • An update on Keep Britain Working • Discussion around the challenges that businesses are facing in supporting staff with poor physical and mental health • Information on the funded SME Mental Health Aware training initiative and how to apply. On arrival, please come direct to the 6th Form Academy building – the entrance faces the Leisure Centre carpark (see below). If you are driving, you may park behind the 6th Form Academy in the College carpark (last turning on the right off Charlton Road before you get to the mini roundabout). You can walk to the front of the building from the carpark, passing the building on your left via a blue gate.
