Autumn Parkinson's Surf Sessions 2026

Surf sessions designed specifically for people living with Parkinson's Fridays 12, 19, 26 June & 5 July 2026 1.30pm - 3.30pm These sessions are run by experienced surf coaches and have been designed with input for Parkinson's Nurses, Physios and representatives from Parkinson's UK. Whether you are new to surfing or have lost your confidence in the water since being diagnosed, these sessions are open to anyone wanting to experience the benefits surfing can offer to those living with Parkinson's. For some, surfing might be done lying down and for others, they might be on their feet. The goal of these sessions is to boost physical and mental wellbeing through accessing the joy of being in the ocean in a safe, supported environment. Group numbers are small and we have the support of volunteers in the water to help with catching boards and lending a helping hand if needed. Sessions start with an intro from the coaches before walking down to the beach and have a led warm up. You will be in the water for approximately 1 hr and will begin in knee deep water. The coaches will tailor each session to meet the needs and experience of the group - if you are an experienced surfer then you might head further out back knowing that you have the eyes and support of a dedicated coach to help you feel safe. The Tubestation will be open during the day if you'd like to arrive a bit early or stay for a chat afterwards. We meet at George's Surf School which is opposite the Beach Car Park and below the Tubestation.
