Drop in for a single topic or join us for all four—each module focuses on a distinct shortform skill to strengthen your improv toolkit. (Note: If you’ve taken 202 in the past, check out the updated themes below!) Every class balances loose, playful warm-ups with focused exercises on the topic of the day. You’ll be on your feet, experimenting, and having a blast in a warm, supportive space. •⁠ ⁠Justify Everything - 7 June Unlock the power of justification in your improv. This workshop dives into the art of turning unexpected moments, strange offers, or "mistakes" into brilliant choices. Learn how to say "yes" with purpose, build logical worlds out of chaos, and transform confusion into clarity. Justification brings confidence, cohesion, and comic gold to your scenes—discover how to make every move feel intentional. •⁠ ⁠Character First - 14 June Step out of your head and into someone else's shoes from the very first second. This workshop focuses on crafting vibrant, fully realized characters using physical posture, vocal shifts, and raw emotion as your launching pad. Instead of searching for the plot, you’ll discover how a bold, distinct character choice can effortlessly drive the narrative, unlock unexpected comedic beats, and keep you grounded in the scene. Stop overthinking the story—let your character lead the way. •⁠ ⁠Power Plays - 21 June Every interaction on stage carries a subtle current of power, whether it’s a royal demanding respect or a servant secretly pulling the strings. In this session, you’ll unpack the dynamics of emotional, social, and physical status to control the room with intention. Learn how to raise or lower your standing, manage the tension and play with sudden status shifts, and build sharp contrast between characters. Understanding power dynamics adds dramatic weight, sharp humor, and captivating variety to any improvisor's toolkit. •⁠ ⁠The World Is Your Partner - 28 June An empty stage is only ever as quiet as your imagination. This workshop teaches you how to treat your physical environment not just as background scenery, but as an active, unpredictable scene partner. Learn to let subtle changes in atmosphere, location, and object work directly influence your mood, choices, and physical behavior. By building rich, sensory worlds collaboratively with your ensemble, you’ll ground your narrative, heighten the stakes, and give your scenes a captivating sense of place.. Suggested pre-requisites: • Introduction to Improv (101) • Introduction to Shortform Improv (102) • Intermediate Improv (201) • Ages 16+ This series is ideally aimed at: those with some core improv training and wishing to expand further with the aim to hone their craft and step up a level. Our TBC Course Structure Explained: Our courses and classes have 2 defining numbers. The first number defines the level. 100 series - Introductory 200 series - Intermediate 300 series - Advanced etc. Then the 01, 02, 03 etc. defines the type of class. 101 Intro to Improv (building blocks) |102 Intro to Shortform |103 Intro to Longform This course is in our intermediate 200 series, and will be taking you through advancing and deepending your shortform skills.
