The discussion will explore how Indonesia’s foreign policy and its “Free and Active” (Bebas Aktif) diplomacy are viewed by foreign scholars and observers, examining Indonesia’s diplomatic strengths, opportunities, and challenges as it navigates an increasingly complex and uncertain geopolitical environment. The session will also discuss Indonesia’s evolving role and agency as a middle power in regional and global affairs, while providing a platform for dialogue between Indonesian audiences and international experts.
