SportAbility Day 2026

Join us for an afternoon of inclusive sport and physical activity, where people with a disability can discover new opportunities in sport. Active Cities is about creating opportunities so that all citizens can lead healthier lifestyles in the context of sport and physical activity. The vision of Active Cities is to engage, maintain and increase the number of citizens regardless of age or ability participating in sport and physical activity in their city. The Five Local Sports Partnerships , Active South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership, Dublin City Sport Wellbeing Partnership, Fingal Sports Partnership and Wicklow Sports and Receration Partnership are coming together to create a SportsAbility Day targeting all abilities, all ages, and all sports and physical activity. The aim of the SportAbility Day is to put a focus on the inclusion of people with disabilities in sport and physical activity in Dublin and nationwide. This event will promote disability sport organisations, National Governing Bodies, and local clubs and organisations that offer inclusive opportunities and adapted sports. SportAbility Day will take place on the 28th November 2026 in Sport Ireland’s National Indoor Arena, Blanchardstown, Dublin from 1pm-4pm. It will be a highly interactive day including practical ‘’Come and Try’’ sessions delivered by National Governing Bodies of Sport, educational workshops, demonstrations, and information stands from Dublin based clubs and organisations that are already offering inclusive opportunities. SportAbility Day is suitable for people with a disability, parents, teachers, sports coaches, youth club leaders, students, volunteers, and anyone with an interest in sport for people of all abilities. Some of the National Governing Bodies attending and providing Come and Try sessions include Leinster Cricket, Boxing Ireland, GAA Handball, Cycling Ireland, Golf Ireland, Paralympics Ireland, Weightlifting Ireland, Hockey Ireland, Orienteering Ireland, Pitch & Putt Ireland, Rowing Ireland, Swim Ireland, Triathlon Ireland, Leinster Ireland, Tennis Ireland and Enable Ireland. Other activities include a DJ, inclusive zumba classes and a sensory room. Please note that we will have a QUIET SENSORY HOUR from 1-2pm All ages and abilities welcome! Find your sport!
