Full description from organizer

From legal change to confident action The employment landscape is changing. New transparency requirements, complex workplace disputes, evolving industrial relations and the growing use of AI are creating fresh challenges for HR professionals, business leaders and their organisations. The CIPD in Ireland Employment Law Conference, supported by Adare Trusted People Partners, brings together leading legal experts, employment relations specialists and experienced practitioners to examine what these changes mean in practice. Building on the discussions and learning from our previous conference, the 2027 programme will focus on the legal developments, organisational risks and workplace challenges that matter most now. Combining expert insight, current case law and practical, applied learning, the conference will help delegates understand their obligations, anticipate risk and make better-informed decisions in an increasingly complex employment environment. What will we explore? 1. Pay transparency, equality and reputation Pay transparency is no longer simply a compliance exercise. As gender pay gap reporting becomes more visible and expectations around pay fairness grow, organisations need to understand what their data says, how their pay decisions stand up to scrutiny and what this means for their reputation, employee trust and ability to attract and retain talent. This session will explore emerging pay transparency requirements, reward strategy, equality and the role of IHREC, alongside lessons from reporting data and the reputational risks of getting it wrong. 2. Employment law, industrial relations and organisational risk From significant case law and unfair dismissal to pay disputes, protected disclosures, trade union engagement and injunctions, employers must navigate a range of complex and often interconnected risks. This session will examine the latest developments in employment law and workplace relations, including the changing collective landscape, and consider how organisations can respond effectively. Data protection and the responsibilities involved in managing sensitive workplace information will also feature. 3. AI and the changing world of work AI is increasingly influencing recruitment, workforce decisions, employee monitoring and everyday work. With new regulatory requirements and questions around accountability, fairness and data protection, employers need to understand both the opportunities and the risks. This session will explore the implications of AI for employment practices, responsible adoption and governance, and the decisions organisations need to make as technology reshapes work. 4. Procedural fairness: getting the process right A sound decision can still be undermined by a flawed process. This practical session will explore the common pitfalls in workplace investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures, and employee relations matters. From setting clear terms of reference and asking the right questions to considering informal resolution and ensuring a clear right of appeal, delegates will examine what fair and defensible processes look like. Interactive scenarios will bring the learning to life, helping delegates recognise risks before they become costly disputes. Expert insight. Practical learning. Real workplace challenges. The programme will bring together specialists from across employment law, industrial relations, pay and reward, data protection, AI governance and HR transformation. Delegates will have opportunities to question experts, test their thinking against real-world challenges and exchange experiences with peers. Why attend? As the professional body for HR, CIPD in Ireland is committed to providing practical, evidence-based learning that helps professionals stay informed, effective and confident in their decisions. This conference will help you make sense of emerging legal obligations, strengthen your approach to workplace risk and apply learning to the situations you face every day. You will gain expert perspectives, consider the implications for your organisation and leave with practical insights to support better decisions and more confident action. Join CIPD in Ireland, supported by Adare Trusted People Partners, for a day of expert insight, CPD and peer exchange focused on navigating employment law and the changing world of work with greater confidence. Practical, interactive learning will be a key feature, with scenario-based discussion and opportunities to explore how decisions play out in the workplace. The programme will also create space to engage directly with experts on the issues delegates are facing in their own organisations. Cancellations: Cancellations MUST be notified in writing.
