Beyond Words - Art Therapy Workshop

A gentle, experiential workshop exploring the connection between body, movement, music and creative expression. Beyond Words - Art Therapy Workshop is an in-person experience for the general public. A gentle, experiential workshop exploring the connection between body, movement, music and creative expression. We begin together in a circle, creating a welcoming space to arrive, connect and settle.. We then move into standing, using music and natural, intuitive movement to bring out attention from the thinking mind and towards the body. Through spontaneous mark-making and movement with art materials, we explore our inner landscape - allowing thoughts, feelings and sensations to find expression through colour, shape, rhythm and movement. This approach draws on principles of art therapy, mindfulness and embodied practice, offering an opportunity to slow down, become more aware of what is happening withn us, and express ourselves without the need for words. There is no artistic experience required. The focus is not on creating a finished piece of art, but on the process of exploring, expressing, playing and reconnecting with yourself. You will have space to pause, move, create and simply be - leaving with a sens of refreshement, connection and renewed energy.
