Learn how to love your clothes for longer! A quick fix master class, where you'll learn simple techniques to be able to repair your clothes! PATCH, MEND & RELOVE: DENIM & WOOL FREE REPAIR WORKSHOP PENNEYS | GALWAY EYRE SQUARE Learn beginner-friendly hand sewing techniques and explore creative, visible ways to repair and personalise clothes you already own. Join textile artist Orla Kelly for a 90-minute hands-on workshop, no previous sewing experience required! We’ll begin with basic hand stitches and examples of how they can be used on your own wardrobe, before putting them into practice through creative repairs on provided fabrics. We’ll focus on repairing holes in denim, and wool, looking at the Japanese Sashiko technique for denim and dry needle felting for wool. Have a woollen, or denim garment with a small hole? Bring it along and give it a new life through visible repair. All attendees will get a re-useable tote bag and a sewing kit so that they can put what they learned into practice at home! We’ll provide everything you need to take part! THE TIME: The workshop will be 90 minutes long. Please join us 15 minutes before the workshop starts for a pre-session settling in, meet & greet. THE PLACE: The event is held in store, next to the main entrance.
