Book Swap Aperitivo

Come funziona: Si accede allo scambio con un libro, senza libro non si scambia. All’arrivo ti diamo una tessera da compilare: ci racconti com’è stato leggerlo, senza dire titolo né autrice, ed è quello che convincerà qualcun’altra a sceglierlo. All’incarto pensiamo noi, e quando i libri sono tutti pronti li mettiamo insieme sul tavolo: da lì in poi tocca a te, gira, guarda, scegli. Che libro portare: Un libro che hai letto quest’estate e che daresti a una persona che non conosci, perché vuoi che le faccia lo stesso effetto che ha fatto a te. Non deve essere nuovo, ma deve essere in buone condizioni: vissuto sì, distrutto no. Va bene in italiano o in inglese. Cosa è incluso: un calice di vino, stuzzichini, l’accesso all’evento privato, la tessera da compilare e, naturalmente, il libro con cui torni a casa. Ma soprattutto, una serata per conoscere persone nuove, condividere storie e parlare di libri. accapo club: è uno spazio per sole donne. Per chi ama leggere e spesso non ha nessuno con cui parlarne, per chi si è trasferita a Milano da poco e sta cercando persone nuove, e per chi semplicemente ha voglia di fare qualcosa di diverso e non ha paura di uscire dalla propria comfort zone. Il club è pensato per rendere facile conoscere persone nuove anche quando si arriva da sole. Nel club si parla italiano e inglese, e nessuno dei due è un requisito. Chi c’è dietro accapo club: Mi chiamo Nathalie. A Sydney, dove ho vissuto un anno, ho fondato un book club per conoscere persone che amassero leggere quanto me. On 19 September you bring it to Atto Caffè, we wrap it for you, and you pick another one without knowing what it is — only that it made someone else’s summer. How it works: A book gets you into the swap: no book, no swap. When you arrive we’ll hand you a card to fill in: you tell us what it was like to read it, without giving away the title or the author, and that’s what will make someone else choose it. We handle the wrapping: once every book is ready we lay them all out together, and you’ll have time to walk around and choose. Which book to bring: One you read this summer and would hand to a stranger, because you want it to do to her what it did to you. It doesn’t have to be new, but it has to be in good shape: well-read yes, falling apart no. Italian or English, both are fine. What’s included: a glass of wine, small bites, access to the private event, the card to fill in, and of course, the book you’ll take home with you. But most importantly, an evening to meet new people, share stories, and talk about books. accapo club: is a space for women only. For anyone who loves reading and often has no one to talk about books with, for anyone who recently moved to Milan and is looking to meet new people, and for anyone who simply feels like doing something different and stepping outside their comfort zone. The club is designed to make it easy to meet new people, even when you come alone. We speak both Italian and English at the club, and neither is a requirement. Who’s behind accapo club: I’m Nathalie.
