Network Nations Tokyo Meetup

We’ll start with a short introduction to Network Nations — a framework for democratic, commons-grounded governance among translocal communities — followed by a guided discussion. The session will explore three ideas at the heart of the framework: functional sovereignty, commons governance, and entanglement. Together, they offer one way of thinking about how networked communities might develop real governing capacity without simply reproducing startup or state models. The Network State has become one prominent blueprint for networked sovereignty, but it is only one possibility. This meetup is a space to explore the wider design space: what other institutional forms might emerge, what values should they encode, and what can we learn from the decentralized-web community about designing them well?
