Women in Agriculture 2026

The United Nations has designated 2026 as the International Year of the Woman Farmer, recognising the vital contribution of women to agriculture, food systems and rural development. Bringing together speakers from Ireland and Japan, this event will explore the opportunities and challenges facing women in agriculture today, and the role of women leaders in shaping the future of sustainable rural development. The event will feature Ms Carina ROSEINGRAVE, farmer from County Clare and Ireland's Ambassador for the UN International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr Ruriko NOHGUCHI, Professor Emeritus at University of Tsukuba, together with leading representatives from government, academia, international organisations and the agricultural sector in Japan.
