TOYO FREE MARKET

Discover unique art toys and connect directly with artists at TOYO FREE MARKET, hosted by the accessible art community TOY-O. Welcome to TOYO FREE MARKET! In the current Korean art toy scene, artists rarely have the chance to showcase their physical works outside of limited opportunities like official fairs or exhibitions. Positioned right on the borderline between product and artwork, art toys still remain a strange, uncharted territory for both general collectors and fine art experts alike. That is why we decided to step away from the rigid formats of 'fairs' or 'exhibitions' and approach the community through a more accessible 'free-market' format. While a typical 'flea market' is a place for trading handmade crafts or secondhand goods, our 'free market' is a creative market where the artist's imagination and philosophy breathe freely. We want to create a welcoming space where everyone who loves art toys can gather, enjoy the pieces, directly communicate with the creators, and truly immerse themselves in this culture. As the beginning of this extraordinary journey, we are opening the doors to 'POLYGON CLUB,' one of the very spaces where art toys are brought to life. With this studio as our stage—a place where raw inspiration and the creative process come alive—we aim to unfold a new story every month. We warmly invite you to join us and celebrate the first page of this journey in this very special space. TOY-O : A creative hub for art toy artists. In the art toy scene, opportunities for artists to connect are rare outside of formal exhibitions or personal studio visits. Unless sharing a workspace, most creators work in isolation. This makes it difficult to find practical advice or fresh ideas on crucial stages of the process, such as technical know-how, social media promotion, marketing, packaging, and artwork sales. TOY-O aims to break through these barriers by providing a space where artists gather regularly to exchange valuable information and insights. Furthermore, through [ TOYO FREE MARKET ], we hope to deepen public understanding of art toys and expand the community's horizons, striving to build a healthy, creative network that collectively shapes the future of the art toy scene.
