About the host Jeroen van Dijk is the Interim Senior Marketing Manager at the RCA. Jeroen van Dijk joined the Royal College of Art in 2022 and hosts external and on-campus events in London and across the globe, where he advises incoming students on what it means to study a postgraduate art & design degree at the RCA and how to develop one's creative practice into a successful application. Jeroen is an architectural history and heritage professional whose research centres on LGBTQ+ perspectives on the built environment. He has written about queer heritage in London and Amsterdam, focusing on queer memorials and nightlife. RCA Alum Diego Trujillo Pisanty (Mexico City, 1986) is an artist whose practice treats information as material: something that can be captured, stored, transmitted, interpreted, and destroyed, and whose physical and logical properties determine both the method and the argument of each work. Originally trained as a photographer, he later studied biology at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México before completing a master's degree in Design Interactions at the Royal College of Art in London in 2012. This interdisciplinary background consolidated a practice in which empiricism, experimentation, and the construction of devices are inseparable from conceptual intent. Building functional machines as a method of inquiry is a throughline in his work. Trujillo Pisanty has received the Lumen Prize 2025 in the Still Image category, an Honorary Mention in Hybrid Art at Prix Ars Electronica 2015, and the Jóvenes Creadores grant from Mexico's Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes on three occasions. He has exhibited his work across Europe, North America, and Mexico, worked as a Human-Computer Interaction researcher at Newcastle University's Culture Lab, and has taught physical computing, robotics, and smart materials at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His work has been repeatedly covered by international media. With Robots (2011) appeared in Wired, Gizmodo, Dezeen, and BLDGBLOG. This Tape Will Self-Destruct (2014) was covered by Vice and Dazed Digital. Blind Camera (2023) has been screened at the Victoria and Albert Museum and featured in the Fellowship.xyz exhibition program, with coverage in Neural Magazine, We Make Money Not Art, and CreativeApplications. Stay connected From visa and funding advice to public exhibitions and open days, our event calendar is always evolving. Most sessions are free, open to all, and designed to help you navigate your postgraduate journey. Keeping our events accessible & inclusive The RCA is a diverse and welcoming community, and our events are informal spaces designed entirely for your support and insight, they have no impact on the admissions process. For any access requirements or adjustments, please email [email protected]; support guests are also welcome, please book them a free ticket too.
