Join us for a fun hands-on session making mooncakes and lanterns with and celebrate heritage traditions with Dona Manis this Mid-Autumn! Crafting Mid-Autumn Traditions: Mooncakes & Lanterns with Dona Manis Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival through the flavours, crafts, and traditions that have brought generations together. Step into Dona Manis Heritage Bakehouse in the historic Katong-Joo Chiat district for an immersive, hands-on Mid-Autumn experience celebrating the stories and customs behind one of Asia’s most cherished festivals. Begin with a heritage sharing session exploring the origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the traditions that have shaped its celebration across generations. Discover the meaning behind familiar festive symbols, from mooncakes to lanterns, and how they became an enduring part of Mid-Autumn celebrations. Then, roll up your sleeves and make your own set of two snowskin mooncakes. Guided by our facilitators, you will learn how to shape and assemble these festive treats before taking your handmade creations home to enjoy and share. Complete the experience by making and painting your very own wood lantern. Assemble and personalise your lantern with your own creative touches, while discovering the significance of lanterns as one of the most recognisable traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
