Bullying and Cyberbullying: What's Actually Changed

Understanding how bullying, both in person and online, has changed — and what parents can do when it happens. According to GGD Flevoland's own youth health monitor, the share of Flevoland teens experiencing bullying — in person or online — rose from 12% to 18% in just four years. That's not a blip; it's a real regional trend, and online bullying in particular looks nothing like the schoolyard version most parents grew up with. This session covers how to recognise signs your child may not volunteer directly, how cyberbullying spreads differently than in-person conflict, and — critically — how to actually get a school to take a concern seriously and act on it. What you'll walk away with: A clear sense of what's changed, how to spot it early, and a practical script for raising it with a school.
