NÓISIN presents: TEACH ALLAIS

An Irish sauna ritual celebrating the change of season through music and communal heat led by sauna master Owen Farag. PLEASE SHOW UP 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE EVENT STARTS The Teach Allais, meaning “house of sweat”, was a traditional Irish stone structure used to induce sweating, often as a form of folk medicine. Once found throughout parts of rural Ireland, these small, enclosed spaces reflect an intimate relationship between people, landscape and traditional healing practices. Taking place around Samhain, the ancient seasonal festival marking the transition into winter, this event brings these two ideas into conversation. Through a contemporary sauna ritual, Nóisin will explore Ireland’s history of communal heat and the turning of the seasons, reinterpreting our cultural tradition through music and shared experience.
