Booklaunch: THE ISLAND AS RESOURCE

An in-person book launch for THE ISLAND AS RESOURCE, open to the general public. Office Overzee is launching their new book, THE ISLAND AS RESOURCE: Lessons on a Kilometre-Zero Architecture in Mallorca. THE ISLAND AS RESOURCE helps you design or transform buildings so that they enrich their cultural context by engaging with their territory, using a practical reading of Mallorca's materials, techniques, crafts, and climate as a case study for kilometre-zero architecture anywhere. The book is intended for architects, builders, and developers interested in fostering a building culture that is both innovative and culturally resonant. By documenting an emerging architectural movement in Mallorca, the publication explores how a local and sustainable building culture can develop from the qualities of a place, while also providing adaptable ideas for other contexts. The book is available through the website of NAi Booksellers: https://www.naibooksellers.nl/the-island-as-resource-lessons-for-a-kilometre-zero-architecture-in-mallorca.html Agenda 18:30 Doors open 19:00 Book presentation + Q&A 20:00 Drinks 21 :00 End Taking place in Room 1 (first floor)
