Cultuurhaven: (ID)Entity: Exploration of the self (and selves) by Omnisfera

Who are we beyond the labels we are given? Bringing together different artistic disciplines and perspectives, we invite artists and audiences to reflect on belonging, identity, migration, memory and the many selves we carry. What makes you who you are? Is it where you come from, the culture you grew up in, the people you meet, or the places that feel like home? We invite you to pause, reflect, exchange ideas and connect with experiences that may be different from or similar to your own, in an evening of multidisciplinary contemporary art exploring identity and the experiences that shape us. There will also be opportunities to participate and engage with the artists and their artwork! Explore identity, belonging and the many selves we carry through art. Whether you've spent your life in one place, grown up between cultures, moved across borders or are still figuring out where you belong, there's space for you in this conversation. Discover works and perspectives from young emerging artists, including music performances, a documentary film screening, paintings, and art installation that explore questions around identity, culture, belonging, and home. Meet people and experience contemporary arts in an open, accessible setting. Take part in a shared space for reflection, conversation, and creative exchange. You’re welcome to have a conversation with the artists too! No art or music background is needed, just curiosity and an open mind. Omnisfera Collective is a multidisciplinary arts collective based in The Hague, bringing together young artists to explore social issues through art. From the artist, by the artist, for everyone. We create spaces where artists and audiences can come together, exchange perspectives, reflect on shared experiences and discover new ways oflooking at the world. We believe contemporary art should be accessible to everyone, not just those already familiar with the art scene. This time, we bring up the topic of identity. Inspired by Amin Maalouf’s book In the Name of Identity, we explore identity as something complex, personal and constantly evolving. We believe that our identity is shaped by many things: where we come from, the time we live in, the people around us, our memories, our culture and the places we call home. But what happens when these things don't fit neatly into one box?` See you there!` Cultuurhaven is a platform of West Den Haag, aimed at promoting the connection between creators in the city.
