Cinema Talk: Ethic of Making

What if fashion gave back? Conversation on fashion, textiles, craft and more caring ways of making. Join us for a conversation between Nonkululeko Mlangeni and Abdul Rehman, two practitioners exploring how textiles and craft in their own practice, with Mlangeni’s film Umkhosi Wezimbokodo and work with South African artisans and cultural heritage through The Ninevites, and Rehman’s film Ishq de Baajhon Bia Sabh Koorrh and research with craft and Indigenous communities across Pakistan. Together, we discuss how fashion might move beyond extraction and production towards reciprocal ways of making, where materials, makers and the more-than-human world are approached with care and responsibility.
