Green Café hiking event Stratumse Heide & Groote Heide

Join us for a chill hike through a beautiful nature area in the south of Eindhoven and meet some awesome people along the way! This time, we will explore a 12 km route around the Stratumse Heide (Eindhoven) & Groote Heide (Heeze), one of the preferred routes of the guides. These two nature areas are surprisingly unknown to many people living in Eindhoven. Along the way, you will find forests, heathlands, several fens, and many small hills. Highland cattle can sometimes be spotted in the area, so let’s see if we get lucky! For part of the route, we will walk alongside the A67, but later we will cross it and head into the more open heathlands, most of which are located in the Groote Heide. Whether you have attended previous Green Café events and would like to keep engaging and build a community, or you are a first-timer looking to connect with like-minded people and get to know the Noord-Brabant region better, this walk is for everyone, so feel free to invite some friends! This walk will be group-guided, with Zarina, Subin, and Mayra as supporting members of the Green Café Hiking team. Practicalities: • Gathering time: The guides will be there at 10:15, and the walk will start at 10:30. So, please be on time. • Meeting point: We will meet at the Parking Schuttersbosch located at the end of Rendierveld. Here you can leave your car or bike. • Clothing: Please wear long pants and long sleeves (due to nettles and ticks), bring good walking shoes and a rain jacket if needed. The walk will only be cancelled if it’s raining hard. • Food: We will take a small break to have lunch, so besides your own food and drinks, please bring some healthy snacks to share with the rest.
