The Institute of Open Science Practices

IOSP is built on a single working principle: the people who depend on open science infrastructure and the people building it should be in the same room, working on the same problems, long enough to make real progress. This year, we will, together: Build a participant-owned data storage network. Publish datasets, code, and knowledge objects to it. Create algorithms that assess the trust and value of what is published. Assemble community-owned collaboratives that route funding based on that analysis. Spend Oct 14 outside the workshop rooms in walking sessions, informal working groups, and community activities. Close on Oct 15 by revisiting our shared theory of change. Meet with us in Leiden with the support of the University of Leiden, and the GoFAIR Foundation on Oct 12, 13, and 15. Oct 14 is our community field day: we leave the workshop rooms behind for walking sessions, informal working groups, and a field trip to the National Open Science Festival in Delft — a day for the community to experience life together, not just work together, before we reconvene for the final day.
