Full description from organizer

Are you ready for the final challenge of the year? Cervélo presents: The Shortest Day, Longest Ride. We have 15(!) test bikes available! On Sunday, December 20, we’re taking on one last big ride before the year comes to an end. The concept is simple: ride the longest ride on one of the shortest days of the year, from sunrise to sunset. We’ll head out in two groups, led by Ride Out’s ride leaders, covering approximately 150 km or 180 km. It’s a proper winter challenge, so come prepared for a long day in the saddle. • Group riding experience is required. A helmet and clipless pedals are mandatory, and participation is at your own risk. We expect everyone joining to have the fitness and experience needed to complete the distance and pace of their chosen group. • Don't let fading daylight cut your ride short as the winter solstice approaches. To keep you riding safely, Fabric is pre-installing the Lumaray V3 Safety Light on every Cervélo test bike and allowing all event participants to experience it firsthand. If you love the light, you can purchase your own at an exclusive 20% discount, redeemable only on the shortest day of the year. 180 km group – approx. 30 km/h 150 km group – approx. 26–28 km/h GPX routes will be shared before the event. Cervélo test bikes available Want to take on the Shortest Day, Longest Ride on a Cervélo? This year we’ll have a selection of Cervélo test bikes available for participants to use during the full ride, including bikes from the Soloist, Caledonia and S5 range. Test bikes can be reserved during registration and availability is limited. If you reserve a test bike, make sure to bring your own pedals we will also ask your saddle height so we can set up the bike for you before departure. Program We gather at Ride Out at 08:30 for coffee and the final preparations before rolling out around sunrise. Both groups will have three stops along the way. 150 km group After approximately 30 km, we’ll stop for coffee and a chance to warm up. Around the halfway point we’ll stop for lunch at Lola Bikes & Coffee in The Hague. At roughly 75% of the ride, we’ll make one final stop for a drink and something sweet before heading back to Amsterdam. 180 km group After approximately 40 km, we’ll make our first coffee stop. Around the 100 km mark, we’ll stop for lunch at Lola Bikes & Coffee in The Hague. At roughly 75% of the ride, we’ll stop once more for a drink and something sweet before taking on the final kilometres back to Ride Out. Our aim is to have both groups back at Ride Out around sunset. Keep in mind that weather, mechanicals or other circumstances can cause delays, so make sure your bike lights are fully charged. Once we’re back, we’ll finish the day together at Ride Out with drinks, hot chocolate and some well-earned snacks. What’s included Tickets are €20 and include: • Coffee before departure at Ride Out • Coffee during the ride • Lunch at Lola Bikes & Coffee • A drink and snack during the final stop • Drinks and snacks after the ride at Ride Out One last big one before the year is over. The Shortest Day, Longest Ride. Want to be part of it? Sign up quickly. Spots and test bikes are limited. Off Season at Ride Out The pro peloton may pause, but we don’t. Autumn and winter bring a different kind of energy: gravel paths covered in fallen leaves, muddy MTB trails, and crisp rides that keep your legs, and mind, sharp. With our Off Season theme, Ride Out fills the gap in the cycling calendar with everything that makes the darker months of the year special. From October through February you can expect: • Rides & Clinics From long winter rides to gravel clinics, starting at our Amsterdam store and across the Netherlands. • Ride Out Talks & Workshops Inspiring stories and hands-on sessions to inform, entertain, and help you come through winter stronger. • Community Events Meet fellow riders, warm up in our shop with a good cup of coffee, and head back out together. There’s no “off” in Off Season at Ride Out. Our store got a fresh new look, our Ride Out bus rolls out for special rides, and we’re turning up the volume online so you won’t miss a thing. Off Season is the time to explore, learn, and keep riding together. Whether you’re on gravel, MTB, beach, cyclocross, or your trusty road bike. Off Season is here for you.
