Roundtable discussion: Are You Still With Me?

space, or other contexts. This development raises questions about contemporary choreographic research: how we choreograph, direct, and compose, how meaning emerges, and what role narrative structures play in this. With this conversation between three dramaturgs and three makers, all from various backgrounds, we aim to explore the function and role of dramaturgy in the current dance and performance landscape. Is dramaturgy still an inherent part of the creative process? How does dramaturgy change when the context in which work is created and presented changes? Speakers: Eylül Fidan Akıncı, Julian Hetzel, Marina Mascarell, Miguel Melgares, Courtney May Robertson, and Hildegard De Vuyst. Program * Welcome by Eva Villanueva, Artistic Director of BAU (5 min.) * Short presentations by the six speakers (max. 10 min. p.p.) * Break (10 min.) * Roundtable discussion (45 min.), moderated by dramaturg and writer Judith Vrancken * Discussion with the audience (15-30 min.) * Reception (food and drinks) The meeting is open to the public and is aimed at makers, dramaturges, performers, students, interested individuals from the dance, performance, and live arts fields, or anybody else who wishes to join.
