Being Seen, Heard & Held A space for Women & Mothers to Belong & RISE with awareness, connection, and empowerment Women RISING Together There is nothing like looking into the eyes of other women who understand. Women RISING Together are facilitated compassionate sharing spaces filled with curiosity, respect, and meaningful conversation and connection. Each monthly gathering begins with Welcoming Connection and heart-centered meditative breathwork, followed by a structured 'sharing our experiences' spiral process where everyone has equal opportunity to listen, and be heard. A wonderful opportunity follows with valuable time for shared reflection and connection over light refreshments, allowing space for integration and ease. Almost Kiwi has been inspired by an unforgettable book I read shortly after moving to NZ from Canada. It was called Almost French by Sarah Turnbull. Even though Canada's culture is so similar to New Zealand, there were many things to navigate, even after being here for years. I am very appreciative of people like me who have moved countries - especially those with even more challenges with different languages and cultures. Living here in NZ can become more than 'just a flight away' from home - the feelings that happen when missing your birth family's special and memorial events, not being able to share your special events, and when flights aren't an option like what we saw with COVID. We know that community support is one of the most valuable resources during times that can feel isolating and challenging - and also those special times to share celebrations with! You are not alone. Almost Kiwi is your group to be seen, heard, and held - a space to belong and RISE with awareness, connection, and empowerment. Almost Kiwi will meet on the 3rd Thursday night of each month. Register early, there is a limit of 10 per session. • Therapeutic group journeys are grounded in strengths and shared wisdom that many women experience as nourishing and beneficial. Kristi's published Masters research was "Creating Appreciation and Community Support for Mothers Caring for a Child with Anxiety Disorder - this won a Bold Innovators Award.
