The Free Speech Union New Zealand is proud to present the No Offence Taken Tour with Andrew Doyle! Comedy has always pushed against the edges of what's acceptable to say, and few people understand that better than Andrew Doyle. As the writer and comedian behind the satirical Twitter phenomenon Titania McGrath, Doyle has spent years skewering the absurdities of cancel culture, performative outrage, and a comedy scene increasingly nervous about its own punchlines. Join us for an evening exploring what happens when humour collides with a culture of offence and why the ability to speak freely matters far more than we give it credit for. Andrew Doyle is a writer, broadcaster and comedian. He is the author of Free Speech and Why It Matters, The New Puritans and The End of Woke (all published by Constable). He is the creator of the satirical character Titania McGrath, whose show Mxnifesto was produced at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at the Duchess Theatre in London’s West End. As Titania, has written two books – Woke: A Guide to Social Justice and My First Little Book of Intersectional Activism. He has a DPhil in English Renaissance literature from the University of Oxford where he also worked as a lecturer, and he has been a Visiting Research Fellow at Queen’s University Belfast and a Presidential Scholar at the New College of Florida. He created the weekly television show Free Speech Nation on GB News, which he presented for three years. He has been Executive Producer on a number of television shows, including: The Dinosaur Hour with John Cleese, Headliners and Ministry of Offense for GB News, and the documentary Nazi Pug: Joke or Hate for the BBC. He has written a number of musicals for the stage including: Soul Music (Rose Theatre, Kingston), The Adventures of Pinocchio (Castle Theatre, Wellingborough), The Hundred and One Dalmatians (Castle Theatre, Wellingborough) Gulliver’s Travels (Lyric Theatre, Belfast), Paperboy (Lyric Theatre, Belfast) and Huckleberry Finn (Lyric Theatre, Belfast). His plays include: Borderland (national tour for 7:84 Scotland), Jimmy Murphy Makes Amends (BBC), The Second Mr Bailey (BBC) and Poster Girl (BBC). Andrew has written and performed eight solo stand-up shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, three of which transferred to the Soho Theatre in London. He is the co-founder of Comedy Unleashed, London’s free-thinking comedy night.
