Presenters: Andy Ireland, Naylor Love (Canterbury Health & Safety Manager) Andy is a tertiary-qualified geologist with 12 years’ experience across environmental consulting and health and safety. He spent six years as an environmental consultant, specialising in asbestos and hazardous materials, before moving into construction health and safety. For the past six years, he has worked as a Health & Safety Manager at Naylor Love, providing leadership across high-risk construction activities, incident investigation, critical risk management, subcontractor engagement and the development and continuous improvement of H&S systems and processes. His approach combines technical knowledge with practical, site-based experience and a strong focus on working collaboratively with project teams to find solutions that improve both safety and operational outcomes. Stu Cole, SC Environmental (Principal Environmental Consultant and Licensced Asbestos Assessor) Stu is a Principal Environmental Consultant and Licensed Asbestos Assessor at SC Environmental. With over 25 years' experience in asbestos management, occupational hygiene, contaminated land and environmental compliance, he helps organisations identify, assess and manage asbestos and other exposure hazards in the workplace. His work includes asbestos surveys, air monitoring, clearance inspections, remediation oversight, occupational exposure assessments, contaminated land assessments, and NZQA asbestos removal training. He has led nationwide projects and teams across education, healthcare, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. His career spans roles in New Zealand, the UK, Australia, Europe and the Middle East. Brett Murray, Site Safe NZ (CE) Brett will provide an insightful update on developments within Site Safe and the industry, along with general discussion on the Health & Safety at Work Act Reform Bill. Adrian Van Dyk, WorkSafe (Regional Manager - Southern Inspectorate) Adrian will present on the Development of the Residential Construction Approved Code of Practice for roles and responsibilities in Residential Construction, as well as updates from WorkSafe.
