A Christmas Together

Four choirs. One concert band. A community united in song. There's something special about Christmas when people come together. Familiar melodies, shared memories, the joy of singing alongside one another, and the simple pleasure of belonging. This December, Inachord Singers Tauranga warmly invites you to A Christmas Together, a festive afternoon bringing musical communities from across the Bay of Plenty together for a celebration of music, friendship and the spirit of the season. Joining Inachord are the Katikati Mural Town Singers, Te Aroha Community Choir, Rotorua District Choir and Katikati Concert Band, as well as multiple other regional instrumentalists each bringing their own musical character, traditions and talents to this special gathering. Throughout the afternoon, each choir will share a selection of music, while the Katikati Concert Band brings its own festive colour and energy. And then, in some of the afternoon's most memorable moments, our musicians will come together as one, filling St Peter's with the extraordinary sound of massed voices and instruments. But this isn't simply a concert to sit and listen to. It's an invitation to sing. Together, we'll share in some of Christmas's most beloved carols, including Once in Royal David's City, O Come, All Ye Faithful and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing. Whether you're a confident singer or someone who usually saves their finest performances for the car, your voice is welcome. The afternoon will also feature Leroy Anderson's exhilarating A Christmas Festival, Dan Forrest's moving arrangement of Auld Lang Syne, and a shared Silent Night to bring our gathering to a gentle close. At Inachord, we believe music is about more than the notes we sing. It's about the friendships we nurture, the communities we strengthen, and the moments of connection that remind us we belong to something greater than ourselves. That spirit of community extends beyond the music, as a portion of proceeds will be dedicated to supporting Good Neighbour, a local charity doing wonderful work bringing care, practical support and connection to people across our region. So bring your family, invite a friend, and join us for an afternoon of familiar carols, beautiful music, festive joy and shared celebration. Because Christmas is all the more meaningful when we experience it together. Come, Gather in Song.
