Come on, babe, why don't we paint the town... and all that jazz! Love going to the movies but hate not being able to sing along? We've got you covered! Welcome to Sing-Along Sundays at the Capitol Theatre! On the first Sunday of every month, we're bringing the magic of movie musicals to Te Puke – but with a twist... YOU get to sing backup! Whether you know every word, love a good musical or just fancy an afternoon out with fellow theatre enthusiasts, this is your chance to sing your heart out and enjoy your favourite songs on the big screen. And this December, we're bringing you all the glitz, glamour and razzle-dazzle of CHICAGO! ABOUT THE MOVIE – CHICAGO Step back into the roaring 1920s, where jazz is king, fame is everything and a little scandal can make you a star! When aspiring performer Roxie Hart finds herself behind bars for murder, she meets the glamorous and equally ambitious Velma Kelly. With both women desperate for fame and freedom, a battle for the spotlight begins, fuelled by sensational headlines, a slick lawyer and plenty of show-stopping musical numbers. Starring Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Richard Gere, this award-winning musical is packed with unforgettable songs, dazzling dance routines, dark humour and larger-than-life characters. From All That Jazz to Cell Block Tango and Razzle Dazzle, get ready to sing along to some truly iconic musical numbers! This isn't your ordinary movie screening – singing along is encouraged!
