Biodynamics for Tamariki & Whānau - Session Two, Colab with Rodney Community

Biodynamics for Tamariki & Whānau- session two Kia ora anō! Following on from our first biodynamics workshop, this session is a chance to check back in on what we started — and go a little deeper. We'll begin with a garden walk to see how things have settled since last time: how the soil is looking, whether the tree paste has done its job sealing those pruning cuts, and what changes tamariki and whānau might have noticed in their own gardens at home over the month. This time we'll focus on Biodynamic Preparation 500 (horn manure) — stirring it together as a whānau activity and spreading it across the gardens. Stirring is a wonderfully hands-on, rhythmic task that tamariki love being part of, and it's a great way to talk about how biodynamics works with the seasons and the soil's natural cycles.We'll also cover: • A simple recap of the biodynamic principles from session one, for anyone who's new or needs a refresher • How to read the biodynamic calendar and choose good days for planting, sowing, and harvesting at home • Tips for keeping up biodynamic practices in your own backyard between sessions Bring a jar again if you'd like to take some finished preparation home, and dress for the outdoors as before - gloves and clothes you don't mind getting dirty (we'll be back in the manure again!).
