Double Feature: Leading Through Change and Uncertainty & Courageous Leadership in the VUCA World

Note: This is an in-person only event at Rutherford House, Vic Uni, Bunny Street Wellington 6011 About this event: Join the PMI New Zealand Wellington Branch on 18 November for an engaging double-feature session with Gina Barlow and Iain Fraser. Gina will open the evening with an interactive discussion on how leaders can respond effectively to change and uncertainty. Her session will explore the difference between certainty and clarity, introduce four project terrains, share “radar” questions for detecting weak signals, outline an adaptive operating cadence, and unpack the CALM leadership routine as a practical approach for navigating complexity. Iain Fraser will then build on these themes with insights on courageous leadership in a VUCA world — where volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity demand clear thinking, sound judgment, and confident action from project leaders. This session is designed for project professionals, change leaders, and decision-makers who want practical ideas for leading well when the environment is shifting and the path ahead is not fully clear. About the Presenter: Gina Barlow is a New Zealand-based principal consultant for risk and assurance at Nonsuch Assurance, where she supports project, programme, and portfolio outcomes through advisory, governance, and risk management expertise. Iain Fraser, PMP, PMI Fellow is an author, trainer, and internationally recognised project, program, and portfolio management leader.
