Education Political Panel - Wellington

To help teachers, parents, whānau, and communities make informed choices in the 2026 General Election, PPTA Te Wehengarua Wellington Region is hosting an election forum. Education spokespeople from across the political spectrum have been invited to to set out and explain their vision for education in New Zealand. Doors will open at 5.45pm, with welcomes and introductions at 6pm. The formal part of the evening will finish at 7.30pm with light refreshments being served. Politicians will be asked pre-written questions then given time to respond - in a predetermined random order. Politicians have been informed that they will not have the opportunity to read out pre-written pitches. We also aim for there to be time for audience questions from our question box - make sure to arrive early to get your questions in! Anyone is welcome to attend, but you must register through Humanitix. This event is run by volunteers and members of the Post-Primary Teachers Association Wellington Region. PPTA is the professional association and union of secondary teachers and principals in Aotearoa New Zealand.
