This edition brings together four very different perspectives — from delivering feature-grade VFX from a boutique Wellington studio, to sculpting dragons, creative technology and the arrival of MDMA-assisted therapy in Aotearoa New Zealand. Scott Chambers is Founder and Senior VFX Supervisor at 808 Ltd, a Wellington boutique studio delivering feature and episodic VFX. Kim Beaton | Sculptor Making the World, One Dragon at a Time The story behind the creation of a universal sculpting material, Pal Tiya Premium. Kim Beaton is a veteran sculptor of 30 years and a passionate advocate of magic realism in sculpture. Dr G | Psychiatrist MDMA-Assisted Therapy Has Arrived in Aotearoa New Zealand! Or: Can Psychedelics Change the World? MDMA-assisted therapy has been approved in New Zealand for two psychiatrists. What is MDMA-assisted therapy, and what could its arrival mean for Aotearoa New Zealand? Dr G is a consultant psychiatrist, professor of psychiatry and neuroscience, author and researcher with a passion for psychedelic therapies. He is one of the first two doctors in New Zealand approved to prescribe MDMA. Delainy Jamahl | Creative Director, Artificial Imagination & Co-Founder, The Grid Solving Problems with Creative Technology Delainy works at the intersection of art and technology, leveraging technology to create art that moves while developing new techniques and tools to solve problems throughout the creative process.
