Wellington Testers - Getting started with AI in Software Quality Assurance

Hey Wellington Testers Community. Following our most recent event on 16th September, we can confirm details for our next event on Thursday 19th November, hosted by the great team at Medical Assurance Society. We have two great speakers lined up for you: • Katrina Clockie (who will be well known to many of you) will spend10 minutes sharing specific trends in AI that are changing software delivery across our industry. She'll discuss how code is no longer a durable asset, the shift from Verum Factum to Vexationes Artium, patterns emerging to tackle the higher volume of code review, and strategies to mitigate scenarios where AI agents are pushing humans out of the loop. • Merridy Marshall will talk to her journey of using AI. We've all heard that testers can't afford to ignore AI. The harder question is where to start, and how to fit it in around a full-time job, a budget and real life. In this 10-minute talk, Merridy shares her own journey of using AI as a learning partner, not just a subject to learn about. She'll show how she used AI tools to work out where her skills were missing, research courses and resources that suit her time and budget and build a learning plan that she actually stuck to. You'll leave with practical examples you can try the very next day!. Registration will open at 4:30pm. Presentations will start at 5pm and (learning the lessons from our last event 🙂), our aim is to DEFINITELY allow for questions and ensure an end at 6pm in time for talks over drinks and nibbles through to 6:45pm. Our venue is Medical Assurance Society - Level 3, PwC Centre, 10 Waterloo Quay, Wellington. We are capped at 40 people for this event so please register early. We will run a wait list for the event.
